Introduction

cover of doncaster renaissance masterplan document

The Doncaster Town Centre Masterplan has been produced on behalf of the Council by ‘Urban Initiatives', the urban design and regeneration consultants retained by Yorkshire Forward as part of their Renaissance Towns Initiative.

Doncaster Council is a partner with Yorkshire Forward in developing its Renaissance Towns Initiative aimed at defining and delivering a practical, longterm vision for the regeneration of Doncaster town centre.

The Masterplan has been prepared drawing on the vision set out in the Doncaster Renaissance Town Charter 2002. The Charter was produced by the Doncaster Renaissance ‘Town Team' in the early part of 2002. The ‘Town Team' has a membership representing the community, Council, service providers, business community, other stakeholders and experts in urban design and regeneration. The preparation process included a number of public participation events and the final Charter has been subject to widespread public consultation.

Because this document has such a large file size, we have also included pdf's of individual sections.
