Networks manage the development, provision and support of robust, reliable communications services and integrated ICT networks. We aim to provide maximum availability, security, integrity, resilience and business continuity throughout the network infrastructure.
The Networks team have responsibility for ICT networks and communication related facilities within the Council. This includes voice, data, mobile, radio and remote access services.
The team is divided into the following three areas:
Service Development
Activities include network design and development, implementation of new facilities, R & D for new technologies, such as wireless networking, Wi-Fi facilities and mobile data services.
Service Provision
Activities comprise all network related project work and more technically complex work requests and installations, typically taking between five and twenty days to complete.
Service Support
Provision of network support services for all Voice, Data, Mobile, PMR and Remote Access facilities. Activities including resolution of faults, moves and changes, system amendments and 'smaller' work requests, which require less planning and are relatively straightforward typically taking up to two working days.
