South Yorkshire flood victims support appeal

The leaders of the four South Yorkshire Authorities - Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield have launched the South Yorkshire Flood Victim Support Appeal in partnership with Hallam FM and the Yorkshire Bank.

More details at: www.hallamfm.co.uk/floodsupport

The appeal aims to raise money to support thousands of people displaced by the severe flooding that hit South Yorkshire in June 2007.

Donations can be made in Doncaster at any Yorkshire Bank branch where cheques should be made payable to "South Yorkshire Flood Victim Support Appeal". Alternatively donations can be made via the post or at Doncaster Council's Colonnades offices.

Applications from people who have suffered loss across South Yorkshire as a result of the flooding can find information from the following website: www.sycf.org/ApplicationforFloodReliefFund.htm.

In the meantime property owners who have suffered flood damages should contact their property insurer immediately to progress their claim. Many home insurers offer 24-hour emergency help lines to provide instant advice and guidance.
