The Urban Renaissance Team is dedicated to delivering enjoyable, beautiful and sustainable urban environments throughout the Borough of Doncaster.
We want to see a vibrant and lively Doncaster capable of competing on the world stage but above all delivering creative solutions to help generate a Doncaster that works for its residents. We should take enormous pride in the transformation that has occurred in recent years in Doncaster but we must also accept that there is still so much more to be done. With this in mind we must ensure that we protect and enhance what is already so good about Doncaster. With 46 Conservation Areas and approximately 800 listed buildings in Doncaster, our Design and Conservation Team is dedicated to preserving our impressive built and landscaped heritage, whilst addressing modern development demands.
The Urban Renaissance Team collaborates with the Doncaster Design Centre and the Town Team, and gives organisational assistance to the running of these two important organisations.
Through the Local Development Framework (LDF) process, specifically Area Action Plans, we feel that with an appreciation of great design and of our heritage we can facilitate high quality new developments and enhancement of the existing historic environment, which will help Doncaster achieve a true Urban Renaissance.
