New statutory provisions relating to the publicity for planning applications came into force in 1992, as detailed in Circular 15/92 and now set out in Article 8 of the General Development Procedure Order 1995 (GDPO). These superseded the previous piecemeal system of notification.
Now ALL developments are subject to some form of mandatory notification/advertising.
For Major Applications this will involve:
A site notice is placed on a lamppost or telegraph pole near to the site which normally gives a 21 day period for responses.
Lists of new applications, which have received a site notice, are published in the Doncaster Star every Thursday.
Copies of the applications supporting information are available at local libraries
An interactive list of applications received is accessible online via Planning Public Access.
For Minor Applications (as categorised by the Department for Communities and Local Government: DCLG) this will involve:
The Case Officer shall write directly to any neighbouring properties that they feel may be affected by the proposed development, giving the statutory 21 days response time.
An interactive list of applications received is accessible online via Planning Public Access.
Copies of all applications are also available for viewing at Danum House reception as part of the planning register.
