Public Access Availability

We do not guarantee that Public Access will be available at all times due to system maintenance and support restrictions. This page will be updated as appropriate to advise users of scheduled downtime, we regret that, due to situations beyond our control, unscheduled downtime may occur.

Due to maintenance activities, it is expected that the Public Access service will not be available between the hours of 00:00 and 06:00 every day. 

Application Information and Comments Online

Public Access provides internet access to Planning and Building Control information. It allows you to view details of current applications, consisting of Development Control, Building Control, Enforcement and Planning Appeals, which are currently being considered by the Council, as well as some planning and building control history.

You can monitor the progress of all applications, submit comments on current planning applications, and search a constantly updated list of applications received and decisions issued each week.

You can comment of the latest consultations being carried out as part of the Local Development Framework (LDF), and view previous comments.

Copyright Notice

Planning application information submitted to the Council is protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes, and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.

All decision notices issued from the 1st September 2009 are available via public access.

Limitations

The service continues to be developed, at the present time no constraint information or associated documents are available online, and planning histories are available from 1st January 2002. 

Information contained within Public Access should not be relied upon in connection with a property transaction. Anyone wishing to obtain planning information for this purpose is advised to carry out a local land charges search through the Council's Local Land Charges Section, (Charges apply).

No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from Public Access. Similarly the information contained within Public Access does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer's own risk.

Under normal circumstances, the new planning application information will be available for viewing within 2 working days of receipt of a valid application.

All plans and documents accompanying planning applications submitted from the 1st September 2009 can be viewed via public access.

For planning applications submitted prior to the 1st September 2009, all plans and associated documents are available for viewing at Development and Planning, 2nd Floor Danum House, St Sepulchre Gate, Doncaster DN1 1UB. 

Doncaster Council reserves the right to remove or not display certain planning application information for confidentiality or other reasons.

How Do I Comment On Planning Applications Via Public Access?

If you wish to make a representation, either just to comment, support, or object to an application for planning permission, you can do this via Public Access.

When the planning application details are selected in the Public Access system a button appears in the top right corner "Submit Comments", use this and follow the instructions.

You can also make representations in writing to Development and Planning, Colonnades House, Duke Street, Doncaster, DN1 1ER. Please note that your letter will be scanned and made available on Public Access. We will not send you an acknowledgement letter, but you can confirm that we have received your comments by looking on Public Access. When a decision has been made, you can view a copy of the decision notice on Public Access.

Note For Windows XP Users

Windows XP Service Pack 2 has increased security by stopping pop-up windows. Public Access relies on these pop-up windows to provide you with results and help.  

It is recommended that you add the Public Access web page to the "Allowed Sites" list in the "Exception" settings for the pop-up blocker.
