Following consultation between 29th October and 23rd November 2007, Doncaster Council adopted a suite of Interim Planning Position Statements (IPPS) on:
Affordable Housing
Housing Land Supply
Employment, including Housing on Employment sites
Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS)
The broad approach of the IPPS has not fundamentally changed in the light of the consultation responses, rather some ‘fine tuning’ amendments have been made. Council Members have broadly expressed support for the Interim Statements. A summary of responses is available to view or download below.
The IPPS were approved by Doncaster Council on 25th February 2008. The approved IPPS are available to view below.
The Statements came into effect for planning applications determined after 25th February 2008.
These documents are intended to clarify the following in the interim period before Doncaster’s Local Development Framework (LDF) documents are adopted in 2010 and 2011 as follows:
Clarify the relevant local, regional and national planning policy position
Summarise the relevant LDF evidence base, which the Planning Inspectorate advise, is a material consideration in determining planning applications in advance of the LDF
Clarify the Council’s methodology for assessing major and strategic planning applications which are submitted in the interim period
The documents are not intended to create new planning policy or allocations outside the Unitary Development Plan or Local Development Framework, but rather to summarise and clarify matters. They are intended to provide maximum possible clarity and certainty for all involved in the planning process. They are not Local Development Framework documents, rather they provide clarity in the period in advance of the LDF.
Below are the documents that were consulted on during the October to November 2007 consultation:
The 5-Year Deliverable Housing Land Supply Statement is available to download below.
This statement identifies the sites that make up Doncaster's deliverable housing land supply as at December 2009 and replaces the previous 2009 Statement.
The majority of Doncaster's Unitary Development Plan (UDP) policies have been saved from 27th September 2007, until they are replaced by the emerging Local Development Framework. The UDP policies were assessed in 2007 as required by Government against their criteria for saving policies. The saved UDP policies are listed in the Secretary of State's Direction and Schedule which is available to view here:
