What is Environmental Planning?

The Environmental Planning Team is dedicated to ensuring that Doncaster's natural heritage is protected and enhanced, and that new developments contribute towards delivering sustainable development.

Below are links to the main areas of work within Environmental Planning:

Environmental Policy - developing environmental policy and overseeing the sustainability appraisal process.

Biodiversity - protecting, enhancing and raising awareness of the biodiversity of the borough, for example by supporting the Doncaster Biodiversity Action Partnership in producing the Doncaster Biodiversity Action Plan.

Local Record Centre - collates biological records for Doncaster and supplies information to protect sites, aids in research and assists in planning applications.

Geodiversity - an introduction to the geodiversity of Doncaster.

Landscape, Trees and Hedgerows - providing professional advice and determining applications for works to protected trees.

Ecology - providing professional advice on ecological issues relating to planning applications.
