Through the Council's delegation agreement, the vast majority of planning applications are decided by planning officers. When larger or more complex applications are submitted, these could be brought in front of the Planning Committee for consideration and then determination.
The Planning Committee consists of fourteen Councillors of all political groups from across the Doncaster Borough. The Committee is overseen by a Chair and Vice-Chair. Also present at the Planning Committee are the Head of Development Management and a Principal Planning Officer, who represent the Planning department. Legal and technical officers from the Council are also there to advise Councillors. An officer from the Democratic Services Team makes a record of the proceedings and decisions taken at the meeting.
