Over the past few years the impact of flooding has become an important issue for everybody. With changes to weather patterns (effects of climate change) and the impact that development has on water movement to streams and rivers, the risk of flash flooding and floods has increased. It is in everyone's interest to know what risk of flooding your house or business has, also on how water is disposed of from your home or business and what knock on effect this has to your local environment as a whole.
A Flood Risk Assessment may be required if a development is located within Doncaster's indicative flood plains. Dependent on the size, the design and location of a development will have a bearing on the level of detail required with a Flood Risk Assessment.
The documents below will help decide if a flood risk assessment is required for your house or business. If this is the case, then the level of information required to complete a flood risk assessment is also given.
Important note: For developments within flood zones, all developments will have to complete a flood risk assessment BEFORE submission of a planning application. No application will be accepted without a relevant flood risk assessment attached.
If you have found out that you live in an area designated as flood risk by the Environment Agency and you are building an extension to either your house or business, you will need to fill in the form below.
Failure to fill in this form will delay your application.
