Planning Application Forms

This page provides information on how to submit a planning application online via the Planning Portal, and how to download the National Standard Planning application forms accepted by Doncaster Council.
Please note that we strongly advise that pre application discussions occur before the submission of all planning application forms. This will aid your application being processed within the appropriate time scale. By using the link below you can view further advice regarding Doncaster Council's pre application protocol.

New Validation Checklists - Out to Consultation
From 6th April fundamental changes to the way planning applications are submitted nationally were introduced. One of these is the Validation Checklist. The checklist introduced clear guidance about what information is expected to be submitted to make a planning application. The Council has prepared its checklist and approved it for consultation purposes. It is formed by three distinct parts.
The first is the National List of information to be submitted to make an application including information like the scales for plans. That list is a national requirement and not the subject of consultation locally
The second part is a list of information required to address specific issues mainly in outline and full applications such as traffic impact and ecology and extends to some 24 subject areas. This is the part that is subject of a six week consultation period ending on the 10 June. In July we expect to report back to the Planning Committee the outcome of the consultation exercise and recommend the adoption of the Part Two Checklist revised as necessary.
The third part is still being prepared and will form detailed requirements on what information is needed for the submission of other applications such as listed building, advertisement and conservation area consents. These will be rolled out over the next three months as working consultation documents. After a reasonable period of working with these of between three and six months the experience and feedback will be reported back to a subsequent meeting of the Planning Committee with a recommendation that the Part Three Checklists be adopted, again revised as appropriate.
Below is the documentation out to consultation:
Standard Planning Application Form
The Standard Planning Application Form is a key part in Communities and Local Government's commitment to make the planning system simpler, faster and easier to use. As well as speeding up the planning process, the introduction of the Standard Application Form will also enable planning services to be provided online and give applicants certainty about the information they need to provide.
To apply online to our Authority, please use the Planning Portal link situated under the Related Links section on the left hand side of this page.
In addition to the Standard Application Forms, we, as an Authority, will be providing a checklist for each application type, identifying what additional information is required to enable Doncaster Council's planning officers to determine your application. These checklists are currently being compiled; therefore in the meantime we are still working with our current guidance.
