Statement of Community Involvement

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act requires each Local Planning Authority to prepare a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). 

The SCI sets out how and when the Borough Council will involve the community and stakeholders in relation to the Doncaster Local Development Framework (LDF) and in determining planning applications.

The SCI was adopted in November 2006 following extensive public consultation periods and an independent examination by a Planning Inspector. The Inspector’s Report, including the comments received during the Submission consultation period, the adopted SCI and the Adoption Statement can be downloaded below. 

Please note that the SCI should be read in conjunction with the Local Development Scheme (LDS). The list of LDF documents listed in Chapter 2 and Appendix 4 of the SCI may change as the LDS is reviewed each year. However the principles and methods set out in the SCI are still relevant for each Development Plan Document.
