Below is information regarding the latest position of the Local Development Framework (LDF), for more detailed information please follow either the links provided below, or those under More Information.

Submitting and viewing consultation comments

Consultation comments for the LDF should now be made via the public access section of the website.

This will allow you to comment against all documents that are currently out for consultation, it also allows you to view previously submitted comments and the officer responses to those comments.

Instructions about how to use this system to make comments are also on the public access page.

Consultation - Draft Development and Floodrisk SPD

The draft Development and Floodrisk Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is out for public consultation. The document sets out in detail how national, regional and local planning policy in relation to flooding will be applied in the planning process. This replaces the Floodrisk Guidance Note with immediate effect meaning that Development Management decisions will now be informed by the draft SPD.

The consultation will run for 4 weeks, from 26 February to 26 March 2010.

Annual Monitoring Reports - LDF and Section 106

The Annual Monitoring Reports (AMRs) are now available on LDF - Annual Monitoring Report for the year April 2008 to March 2009.

LDF AMR - this is required to be produced annually and is used to check on the progress of the LDF.

Section 106 - this is the first annual report and describes the Section 106 activity for the monitoring period. It details background information about Section 106 agreements, reports on the Section 106 budget position and gives information on projects that have been implemented.

LDF Programme Update - September 2009

Following the May 2009 Mayoral elections and the appointment of a new Cabinet, the Council is reviewing its Local Development Framework, together with the type and number of documents and its approach to producing the Local Development Framework.

We will therefore be amending our Local Development Scheme which describes the proposed plans and timetables, including the consultation period for the Core Strategy Preferred options and this will be published shortly.

In addition, it has been decided that work will be undertaken to "prioritise the priorities" in the current Sustainable Borough Strategy. This work will inform the review of the Local Development Framework.

Evidence Base Update - March 2009

The following new evidence base documents, which will inform Doncaster's LDF, are available on the LDF - Evidence Base Reference List section of the website.

Employment Land Review (ELR)

The consultation has now closed for this document and the responses are being collated.

It assesses over 150 potential future employment sites, including existing and possible new sites that have been suggested to the Council through the LDF consultation process. The ELR also assesses the amount of employment land required to meet Doncaster's future economic needs. Views were sought on:

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA)

This document gathers together information on a 'long list' of potential new housing sites. These include: Unitary Development Plan housing allocations; new sites put forward by developers and landowners; and sites which have planning permission for housing but have yet to be developed. The sites have been assessed for suitability, availability and deliverability.

In summary Doncaster's SHLAA shows that there are more than enough new housing sites to meet its new housing targets for the period up to 2026. The SHLAA does not allocate sites, but rather is evidence base which will inform the new policies and strategies in the Core Strategy and Allocations DPD. Comments on this document can be made by post or email using the contact details at the top of this page.

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (Level 1)

The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) is a key piece of evidence base for the LDF which will be used to inform future land allocations and planning decisions. It uses the Environment Agency's maps and adds a local level of detail for high risk areas. Comments can be made using the contact details at the top of this page.

The second stage of the SFRA will carry out a more detailed assessment of potential new development sites at higher risk of flooding and is due to be published later this year.

In addition a Five Year Deliverable Housing Land Supply Statement is available. This document identifies the supply of new housing sites which are available for the next five years. Local planning authorities are required by Government to produce this statement to identify and maintain a supply of housing sites that are suitable and deliverable for the next 5 years. This statement is a technical update to the housing land supply figure tables in the Council's Interim Planning Position Statement 2: Housing in Doncaster.
