The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is being reviewed in the light of changes to PPS 12 and the planning regulations.
In summary, the proposed changes to Doncaster's LDS, compared to the previous 2006 LDS Review are as follows:-
The Core Strategy submission date will be amended from January 2007 to March 2009. This is to allow evidence base work to be completed to support a new requirement for indicative housing percentages and employment land or floor space per settlement or area to be added to the Core Strategy, along with strategic Waste and Minerals Preferred Areas of Search and supporting policy.
The Housing, Employment and Transport topic DPDs will be combined into one document, along with Retail and Local Waste provision, covering site allocations and more detailed policy as appropriate.
Environment and Minerals Allocation will be combined into one Environment DPD covering allocations and detailed policy as appropriate.
St Sepulchre Gate West Area Action Plan will continue to proceed in advance of other documents as previously envisaged, with a revised programme.
A Town Centre Area Action Plan will be used in place of a Town Centre and Retail DPD, also proceeding in advance of the Core Strategy.
A Joint Strategic Waste DPD for Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham has been added in line with waste procurement requirements and Government Office advice.
