Ryan Carpenter, Rachel Hannan and Hannah Sanderson, all aged 15, scooped this year's lifestyle award. The group put together a road safety message that was delivered to all primary schools in Mexborough. The three classmates produced a short play to teach other school children the dangers on the roads.
Doncaster Council supported the project along with South Yorkshire Police Community Support Officers from the West Safer Neighbourhood Team. Ryan, Rachel and Hannah gained a grant from the Youth Bank, which provided each pupil a fluorescent arm band.
This is the second year running the winners have come from the West of Doncaster with last year's bikesavers group winning from Edlington.

Diana Award for Kids who care
An acclaimed youth group has completed a hat-trick of national award nominations in less than a year.
'Kidz Care - Because We Want To' is a fundraising group made up of youngsters from around the Dearne Valley area.
Their tireless work has been recognised after they were chosen to receive a Diana Award - a legacy to the late Princess which celebrates the contribution young people make to their communities.
Project co-ordinator Jill Arkley-Jevons said: "These young people really deserve all the awards they have won, they work hard rehearsing every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, they have their own steering group and design their own costumes for the shows.
We are extremely proud of all our volunteers."
This latest award makes it a hat-trick of national prizes for the group in just seven months.
Last summer their fundraising work was recognised when they came sixth in the Deutsch Bank Awards and were invited to attend a glittering awards ceremony in London.
And not long after, in September, they took home the National Third Sector Excellence Award for best fundraising event - beating comedian David Walliams who was also nominated for his cross-channel swim for Sport Relief.
The group are busy rehearsing for their third fashion show to raise money for the Aurora cancer care centre, based at Mexborough Montagu Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The previous two shows raised more than £3,000 for the centre.
The group are part of the Millennium Volunteers and Links for Youth Dearne Valley schemes which provide young people with a platform to carryout community projects.
The group will be presented with the award at their Dearne Valley Venture base in Bolton-Upon-Dearne in February.
