Reading Matters - Volunteers Wanted
Around one quarter of 11-16 year olds do not have the reading skills they need for life.
Reading Matters helps young people aged 11-16 improve their reading skills. It does this by recruiting, training and supporting Volunteer Reading Mentors to work on a one-to-one basis with young people who find reading difficult. We work mostly in partnership with secondary schools, but also support with children during transition from primary to secondary school and looked after children in residential care. We are also developing work with parents. For further information contact 01302 834688 or visit the reading matters website.
