Congratulations to Susan Duffy, whose Christmas creativity has won her first place in Rossington's Riding for the Disabled Association's Christmas card competition.
Her winning design - of three colourful Christmas trees - has been made into cards that are being sold to raise funds for the charity. Susan, who attends the Conisbrough Social Education Centre beat many other entries across the Borough to win the competition. Staff at the centre supported service users to design and make the cards, and have been buying the finished product to raise more money for this good cause.
Best Fund Raising Event
Dearne Valley Venture have won an award for Best Fund Raising Event at the Third Sector Excellence Awards in September 2007. The Group Kidz Still Care organised a fashion show for charity raising £1,800 on the night and further funds came in from sales of DVD produced from the evening.
