New Deal for Communities (NDC)

NDC is a government funded programme. There are 39 NDC partnerships across the country with the problems of each NDC neighbourhood being unique, however all NDCs tackle five key themes: poor job prospects; high levels of crime; educational under-achievement; poor health; and problems with housing and the physical environment.

Doncaster Central NDC has £52 million until 31st March 2011 to invest in five distinct areas of Doncaster:

Our aim is to improve and regenerate our area and enable people who live and work here to obtain the same levels of safety, employment, educational attainment, health, cultural and leisure activity, and standard of living as the majority of people living in the UK.  We will make this happen through the development and delivery of inclusive, local, issue-based strategies and projects, whose actions will help renew our local communities and, through this, greater Doncaster.

Our vision is to make our communities and our Doncaster a better place for people to live, work and be proud of.
