Crime is Reducing in Doncaster

We have information from a variety of sources on crime and disorder in Doncaster, and this information is used on a daily basis to ensure that resources are targeted to where they are most needed.

Our research team analyses Police statistics about crime reported to them and produces reports for the Partnership. Members of the Partnership also contribute information which together with the feedback from the general public in the form of responses to the Audit Survey, provides a good picture of crime in Doncaster.

As well as all this local information, the British Crime Survey is published annually, and reflects the views and experiences of the public rather than just the numbers and types of crimes that have been reported to the Police. It is recognised that a lot of crime is not reported to the Police for a variety of reasons, so this survey gives a more accurate picture of how people feel about crime.

Areas with similar characteristics can be compared against one another so that the success of the Partnership's efforts to reduce crime can be effectively measured.
