About the Housing Strategy and Delivery Plan 2008/11

This is an important document for Doncaster. It sets out how we see housing changing in the next three years and beyond. Not just Council housing, but private sector housing for ownership and rent, and housing for those who have particular support requirements.

This strategy has been developed in close alignment with Doncaster’s other main strategies such as the Borough Strategy, the Economic Development Strategy and the emerging Local Development Framework. Its targets are being set alongside those for the new Local Area Agreement. In this way, we can make sure that all these strategies work together to maximise the benefit for Doncaster’s communities.

The Housing Strategy Handbook is to be read in conjunction with the 2008/11 Housing Strategy.  It explains how the current housing strategy priorities are to be reviewed and delivered during 2009/10.  It also shows the timescale for development of new housing policies and will link into the new 2010/14 housing strategy.
