Home Appreciation Loan
The Home Appreciation Loan is for homeowners who are vulnerable, i.e. elderly, on a low income, in poor health and unable to access commercial loans.
What is the Loan for?
The loan is for
- Essential work where your health and safety is at risk e.g. faulty electrical wiring or a leaking roof
- Work that can bring your house up to a decent standard e.g. fitting a new bathroom or kitchen.
- To help meet the cost of your contribution for disability adaptation work where grant funding is exceeded.
How does the Loan work?
- The Council will help you determine what work can be included within the loan and assist you with the application process.
- There are no monthly repayments
- The loan will be calculated as a percentage of your house value. The percentage is normally repaid when you sell your house. There is a maximum cap on what you pay to protect you in cases of extreme house prices.
If you are unable to print an appliacation form, if you fill in the electronic form below, an application form will be sent to you.
