What is the Area Development Framework?
The Area Development Framework is the strategic development plan of the Pathfinder Housing Market Renewal Area, which is part of Transform South Yorkshire’s Investment programme.
The geographic area is comprised of Edlington, Conisbrough, Denaby and Mexborough.
Area Development Framework can be defined as follows:
‘Strategic development plans for geographic areas (usually comprised of a number of adjacent neighbourhoods) that set out hostilic development proposals, designed to improve the target neighbourhoods over the medium to long term into sustainable neighbourhoods, where people choose to live and work.’
ADFs set out:
- A vision for the area will look like in 10 to 15 years time including improvements to the built and natural environment, social and economic circumstances.
- A clear strategy based upon research and intelligence showing how investment into certain priority actions will over time deliver the vision.
- A detailed programme of interventions which are planned and delivered with HMRF investment.
- Information about overall changes in the area which are anticipated over the period regardless of funding.
The ADFs are updated annually to take into account of changes in the socio-economic environment and reflect progress and necessary changes to the plan.
Area Development Framework Document
The Doncaster ADF document is part of the Transform South Yorkshire Prospectus which is available as a separate document. The ADF represent the detailed housing-led response to the Strategic economic and housing issues which are prevalent to the Programme Area. It also provides the detailed programme of projects and delivery mechanisms for its respective area. The ADFs are a culmination of a significant programme of evidence, analysis, masterplanning and community engagement.
