Six Streets Information Days - 1st to 4th December 2009

Displays showing proposals by Lovell Partnerships Ltd and Keepmoat Homes Ltd for a new residential development were shown to residents and stakeholders at the Council's Childers Street office between Tuesday 1st December 2009 and Friday 4th December 2009.  Visitors were invited to ask questions and leave any comments on the revised plans.

The office was opened for early and late sessions to give everyone the opportunity to attend throughout the week.  The Lovell proposals were most popular with residents: they were impressed by the Public Open Space proposals in particular, saying it looked child-friendly, attractive and spacious.  People found the layout easy to understand and pleased to see bungalows included in the scheme.

The proposals were evaluated by a team of Council officers and Lovell was awarded the highest score as the developer offering the best value for the Council and the neighbourhood. Cabinet will consider the proposals later in the year, and if approval is given, negotiations will continue with Lovell to aim for a start on site in 2011 as part of the regeneration of the Six Streets area.

The plans can still be viewed at the council offices at 2 Childers Street, Hyde Park, Doncaster, by contacting council staff in person, or telephone 01302 341271 or email sixstreetsproject@doncaster.gov.uk
