Special Needs Customers

To make our service accessible to all our customers, we provide extra help in the following ways:

For customers who are deaf

We have a minicom line and staff who are trained in basic sign language.

For customers who are blind or cannot read small print

We can arrange to provide information in Braille or large print on request

For customers who have been recently bereaved

We have staff who have been trained to understand the needs of those customers

For customers who cannot speak English

We can normally arrange for information to be translated into their own language

For customers who cannot come out of their home because they are elderly or disabled

We can visit them at home – please contact 01302 734454

For customers who have difficulty filling in forms for the Council Tax Office

We can allow them to be completed by someone on their behalf

For disabled customers applying for a reduction in Council Tax, we will visit them at home at a time convenient to the individual

Contact 01302 734454  - go to www.doncaster.gov.uk for an application form, follow the links for Council Tax then discount forms and leaflets

Please contact us if you, or someone you know, may need extra help in any of the ways listed above.
