Are You Having Difficulty Paying?

The following fact sheets have been produced to try and help Council Tax payers understand the process by which Council Tax arrears will be recovered and to offer practical advice on what to do at each stage of the recovery process.

The information is useful for any taxpayer who is experiencing difficulty paying whether they have already been contacted by The Council or not. Taking action early to resolve payment problems is always the best option.

The Income and  Expenditure form can be used at any stage although the requirement to supply this information does not become a legal requirement until a Liability Order has been obtained. The fact sheets also explain what these terms mean.
