What is the Responsible Retailer Award?

Responsible Retailer Awards Certificates

The Responsible Retailer Award is a joint partnership scheme with other agencies and the private sector. It helps to prevent the sale of age-restricted products to young persons by providing advice and rewards to those retailers who comply with the criteria.

The scheme is now open to all businesses who wish to participate. The scheme also supports proof of age cards to help businesses determine the age of young people and be able to comply with legal requirements.

The Responsible Retailer Award is complemented by the Good Air Award (Roy Castle) scheme whose aim is to promote smoke free environments for the local community.

A list of current Responsible Retailers is available below to download.

If you require any further information about the above scheme please telephone Reduan Ahagan (01302) 737078.
