The South Yorkshire Smoke Free Homes pilot project was run on behalf of the Smoke Free South Yorkshire Tobacco Alliance by staff from Doncaster Council and the Doncaster’s Primary Care Trusts. The project used the West Yorkshire model and ran over the period June 2005 to March 2006 with an evaluation process involving telephone and postal questionnaires. The project proved very successful with a final total of 966 people having signed up to a promise, including 671 gold, 241 Silver and 54 Bronze. The evaluation process indicated strong support for the project from the promise makers.
