In the aftermath of the first Foot and Mouth outbreak a rigorous regime of licensing which controls the movement of a range of animals was introduced. The most common animals whose movements have to be licensed are sheep, goats, pigs and deer. This provides for traceability should an outbreak of disease occur.
The conditions which apply to these movements vary according to the type of animal, the destination and the type of trip. In addition, these conditions are constantly being altered and so it is important that you make yourself aware of the latest conditions before moving livestock.
At present, any post-movement licences (AML1-sheep, AML2-pigs and AML24-deer) for livestock moved into the Doncaster Borough should be sent to the Animal Health Team within 3 days of the move at the following address:
The Animal Health Team,
Floor 3,
The Council House,
P.O. Box 257,
College Road,
Doncaster,
DN1 1RN.
Should you require further copies of movement licences, please do not hesitate to contact us.
