Tel: 01302 736000
Email: customer.services@doncaster.gov.uk

What happens after it has been reported?

Under the Animal Act of 1971, the Council can impound any livestock that has strayed onto Council Land and also impound livestock that has strayed onto private land when a written request is received from the landowner. We will then notify the police of the straying animal and let them know that we will be intending to impound it.

When will the horse be returned?

The animal will only be returned to their owners after satisfactory proof of ownership has been produced and payment has been made to cover any damages and expenses that may have incurred.
