Introduction

Raising money is never simple, but the information below provides a starting point for those seeking funding.

Please note that the criteria and priorities of funding agencies do change from time to time, so you are advised to check the information given in this guide directly with the appropriate funding agency.

Awards for All (Small projects: Grants of £500 to £5,000)

Makes grants to community groups, clubs and schools, of between £500 and £5000 to help them provide new sports opportunities that attract more people to sport and raise standards of play and participation. Whenever the demand for these grants exceeds the amount of money that is available, priority will be given to organisations that provide for communities in former coalfield areas; for the socio-economically disadvantaged; for people with disabilities; and for black, Asian and other ethnic groups.

For more information and help in submitting an Awards For All application, contact Active  Doncaster. Telephone: (01302) 737935 or email: activedoncaster@doncaster.gov.uk

The Sport England Lottery Fund

Sport England will consider making a capital grant (i.e. a grant for buildings, construction works and large purchases of equipment) towards projects costing £5000 or more. Applications must be based on a sound sports development plan. Guidance on producing such a plan is available from the Active Doncaster Manager. Telephone: (01302) 737319 or email: activedoncaster@doncaster.gov.uk or through a Running Sport workshop (see Club Development).
