Positive Futures is a national social inclusion programme using sport and leisure activities to engage with disadvantaged and socially marginalised young adults.
To have a positive influence on young people's lives by widening horizons and providing access to new opportunities within a culturally familiar environment.
We use sport and leisure activities as a catalyst to encourage project participation.
We steer young people towards education, training and employment.
The Doncaster Positive Futures Referral program is available to agencies who are involved in identifying young people aged 10 to 19 who are at risk of offending.
The program uses sport and physical activity as a tool to engage young people into a stable educational timetable, and offers much needed structure and support to the young people with the aim of improving their quality of life.
The project aims to achieve a reduction in youth offending, anti social behaviour and drug misuse, this is done through positive activities, workshops and discussions.
A key element of the program is to help the young people to enagage in positive activities, raising asperations and encouraging social enclusion. To where possible push to nationally recognised accreditation.
The young people are referred onto the program from a variety of agencies including Youth Inclusion Support Service, Police, E2E and Looked After Children and would welcome referrals from other young agencies young people focused.

This project aims to:
Improve current alcohol education within and outside of schools.
Help to prevent vulnerable YP from developing an alcohol problem
Address the needs of children of substance misusing parents.
Help parents of children who misuse alcohol.
Provide diversionary activities for YP.
Consult with YP.
Understand the best way to provide drugs and alcohol education and support to YP.
This project also draws in support from local SNTs and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) as well as working along side agencies such as Better Deal, Connexions and Jigsaw. All of which can provide expert advice to young people on specialist subjects.
