What's the scheme about?

Man exercising in gym - Health referral

Doncaster's Exercise for Health Scheme is to help people improve their health and well-being by becoming more active.

The scheme aims to provide you with the support and advice to exercise safely and appropriately.
It is specifically for people referred by a health professional who do not participate in regular physical activity.

The scheme aims to provide safe physical activity, which is designed with you the individual, to meet your specific needs and preferences.

What do I do next?

You will have to see your GP, Practice Nurse, health visitor, district nurse or physiotherapist to determine whether or not you will be suitable to join the scheme.

Once you have been referred, you can contact one of the centres to arrange an appointment to meet and chat with one of the Exercise Consultants to work out your very own individual physical activity programme.

Activities Available

The range of activities available will depend on your individual heath needs and your personal preference. What they won't be is too strenuous or over-competitive. You receive a 50% discount on standard session prices.

Further information on classes/sessions is available from the attachment below.
