The Council’s Town Centre, Lakeside & Lower Wheatley Neighbourhood Team provides staffed public toilets in the town centre at Market Place – on the corner of High Fishergate. Recently refurbished to a high standard, these busy facilities are fully accessible and incorporate good baby changing facilities. Entry to these facilities is 20p. Disabled badge holders and accompanied children under 10 can use the facilities free of charge. A special prepayment scheme is available for market traders. These toilets are open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm.
The Council also provides a disabled toilet – accessible free by holders of a RADAR key – on the ground floor of the Southern Multi Storey Car Park, conveniently located adjacent to the large disabled parking area, and also a free public toilet at Chappell Drive for the use of wholesale market traders and visitors.
Other Council-run free public toilets in the town centre are located at Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery on Chequer Road, in the foyer of Doncaster Civic Theatre on Waterdale and in Central Library also on Waterdale.
Alternative public toilets - including disabled toilets and baby change facilities - are available in the Frenchgate Shopping Centre on both Levels 1 and 2 during shopping hours seven days a week and free facilities are provided in Doncaster Interchange which are also open early mornings and late into the evenings. Many of Doncaster’s large stores – including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and Woolworths – provide free toilets for shoppers and Mothercare on High Street provide excellent free baby changing facilities for their patrons.
In addition to facilities within libraries and other public buildings, free public toilets are also provided by the Council’s Neighbourhood Teams - in some cases supported by local Town Councils - at key locations elsewhere in the Borough.
Mexborough - Public toilets for shoppers in Mexborough town centre are provided at the rear of Mexborough Market.
Thorne & Moorends - New facilities are available in Thorne at the Vermuyden Centre and additional public toilets are provided in Thorne town centre at The Green and also next to the park at South Parade.
Wheatley & Intake - Public toilets are provided in Sandall Park and in Sandall Beat Woods for vistors to these popular attactions.
Askern - Recently refurbished facilities are provided at Askern Lake.
