Doncaster Athletic Club is a "Clubmark" accredited, state-of-the-art body, run by volunteers, operating from the athletic stadium adjacent to the main Keepmoat Stadium. It provides training facilities and coaching for everyone from 8 years of age upwards.
The club participate in Track & Field, Cross Country, Road Running, Fell Running and Walking events and encourage members to represent the club in league meetings and individual competitions, although this is not a necessity of membership. We have coaches with specialised training to assist the development of disabled athletes. We are also introducing Sportshall Athletics for the 8-14 year olds during the Autumn / Winter period, to be held at Doncaster College for the Deaf.
Under 11s train on a Tuesday & Thursday evening from 5pm to 6.30pm for safety reasons. Other members train on a Tuesday & Thursday evening, meeting at the stadium (unless advised otherwise) at 6.30pm until 7.45/8.00pm. Long throw training (i.e. hammer & javelin) takes place on Monday evenings, along with "specialised" training for athletes invited to attend by their coach.
Members can use the track throughout the day on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays all year round (unless advised otherwise by DAC committee), and on Saturdays and Sundays from May to September).
