Thorne Sports Centre opened their new fitness suite to the public on Monday 12th January 2009, We now have a state of the art two level fitness suite. The fitness suite is equipped with Techno-gym elements equipment. This comprises a total of 37 pieces of equipment a mixture of cardio vascular and resistance machines. You have the luxury of listening to your own music while exercising or to one of our 8 channels comprising of TV, Radio or CD multi-change.

Inductions: The induction will be split into two half’s Induction 1 & Induction 2 below is a breakdown explaining the two.
Induction 1: During the First induction the Fitness instructor will provide you with a Par-Q form (Medical questionnaire) which must be completed. Your blood pressure will be taken and an application form completed. Please bring with you proof of ID, and bank details.
Inductions consist of a fitness instructor taking you around the fitness suite. They will then demonstrate each piece of equipment and its use, along with the wellness system which monitors your progress during each work out. This system also allows the fitness instructor to leave you messages or vice versa. You can also access your programme from home on the website, this allows you to update your programme with other activities, such as walking swimming etc.
Induction 2: You will be given a programme once you have completed your workout 1 period. A programme will then be provided for you to pursue. The programmes will be tailor made to suite each individual.
Each gym member has his or her own wellness key system to operate the equipment. This keeps a record of all your activities and progress of your programme. Your programme will be specifically tailored to your requirements and re-assessed at regular stages.
On the ground floor there is Techno-gyms' Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant equipment to encourage people with disabilities to utilise the studio.
