MAKE sure you’re ready to kick start next year with a fitness resolution you can keep!

From January 2010, staying fit couldn’t be easier as Doncaster Council offer free inductions to leisure centre fitness suites.

Residents can also take advantage of half price golf at Crookhill Golf Course from January to March 2010.

And that’s not all, all over 60s and under 16s in Doncaster can swim for free at selected pools across the borough.

To swim for free, residents aged over 60 will need a Leisure Card and those aged under 16 will need a Champion Sports pass. Leisure Cards and Champions Sports passes are free - see below for further details.

A FREE Champion Sports Pass will give your child access to leisure and sports from as little as £1 per session. They can use their pass every day of the week, all year round, to save money at all Doncaster Council Leisure Centres, The Dome, Dearne Valley Leisure Centre, The Keepmoat Stadium, Hatfield Water Park and Crookhill Golf Course.

The Champion Sports Pass can also be used to get discounts on school holiday Breakout activities including: Snorkelling, Sub Aqua, Canoeing, Rookie Lifeguards, Kracker Klubs and Water Polo.

To get their pass, you need to take proof of their age and address along to a Council Leisure Centre or Customer Service Centre and complete an application form. For more information on the Champion Sports Pass Scheme follow this link.

Don’t let your child have all the fitness fun! You could also enjoy big savings every day of the week, all year round on a wide range of leisure activities with a FREE Leisure Card. To qualify for a card, which would give you to up to half off the normal adult price for a wide range of leisure activities, you must live in Doncaster and be:

To get your Leisure Card, visit your Council Leisure Centre  (please telephone to check if there are specific times for issuing Leisure Cards). You will need to complete an application form and provide a passport-size, colour photo of yourself, along with evidence of your qualification for a Leisure Card.
