Doncaster Council has a Gypsy Liaison Service that deals with matters relating to Gypsies and Travellers. The Gypsy Liaison Service has the responsibility of managing and maintaining the authority’s Gypsy and Traveller sites, they liase with members of Gypsy and Traveller communities and also outside agencies providing help and advice. They also have the responsibility for dealing with illegal encampments and stray horses.
There are a number of Gypsy and Traveller sites throughout the borough that are maintained and managed by the Gypsy Liaison Team, these are:
Gibbons Lane, Thorne
Lands End Road, Thorne
Little Lane, Clay Lane
Nursery Lane, Sprotborough
White Towers, Armthorpe
