Doncaster in Bloom is an annual competition, which is open to individuals, businesses and local organisations within the Doncaster Borough.  The categories range from Best Hanging Basket or Container, Best Presented Garden and a Young Person's Category, there's something for everyone.

The size of our garden is not important, the judges will be looking form creativity, colour and originality.

Local businesses can also get involved.  As well as entering the Best Commercial Premises category, companies can support Doncaster in Bloom by sponsoring one of the competition categories.  Please contact Community Parks for more details.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the various categories, and these are awarded to the winners at a presentation evening in October.

Applications closed on the 30th June 2008.

The results for the 2007 competition can be seen on the following page:

Neighbourhood Award

As part of the Doncaster in Bloom competition an inter-Neighbourhood competition takes place.

A selection of elected members who are portfolio holders travel throughout the 5 neighbourhood areas looking for evidence of the engagement of the wider community.  They check for the design and quality of floral displays and the standard of maintenance.  They also check the environmental quality with the absence of litter, dog fouling, graffiti, fly posting and weeds.

Most importantly the overall impression of the area showing the efforts made by the communities in the improvement and sustainability of their local environment.
