How to find us (This links to Multimap.com which shows the location of the Museum and Art Gallery)

Located on the ground floor of the Museum, "By River and Road" tells the story of Doncaster and its region through the twin routes of the River Don and the Great North Road, in an exciting and innovating way. The gallery was awarded a Commendation in the Interpret Britain Awards, run by the Association for Heritage Interpretation. This is a prestigious award which covers all the UK. We were the only winner from this region and there were nine awards in all.
Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery has also won the award for the Most Improved Visitor Figures from Audiences Yorkshire. These awards cover Yorkshire and Humberside.

Located on the upper floor of the Museum, the Art Gallery includes:
The Museum is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act, with upgraded public toilets on the ground floor; there are handrails to outside steps, disabled parking in the Museum car park, and a fully furbished toilet on the upper floor.
Parking. There is level access to the Museum from the car park, where there are two parking bays for disabled badge holders. Please register your car at Museum reception.
Public Transport. We are a short walk away from Doncaster Railway Station and the new Bus Interchange. Pedestrians should follow the signs from the Interchange through the Frenchgate Centre.
All buses now use the new Frenchgate Interchange as their start and finish point. For information on bus times please call Traveline 01709 515151. For information on trains to Doncaster phone 0845 7484950.
Toilets. We have toilets for the disabled on both the ground floor and the upper floor of the Museum and Art Gallery.
Induction Loop. There is an induction loop system in reception, and also in one of our main galleries where larger meetings and functions take place.
Wheelchair. Any visitor with mobility problems can borrow the wheelchair from reception.
Lift. We have a lift to the upper galleries, which is operated by a member of our friendly, helpful staff.
Assistance Dogs. Guide, hearing and assistance dogs are welcome. Water is available on request.
Displays. A range of interactive units accompany our permanent displays, and we are hoping to create more for the visually impaired and the hard of hearing. Because of conservation requirements, some areas have low light levels, but we have magnifiers and torches when required for anyone who has difficulty in reading text panels in these areas.
Please contact us if you feel we can do anything else in order to make your visit more enjoyable.
