Details of Project Loans

The Project Loan service provides individual teachers with specially selected topic material for all subjects (or fiction) at key stages 1-3.

• Projects are allocated according to the number of children in school 
  
  Primary:-
  Up to 299 pupils   12 projects per year
  Up to 399 pupils   15 projects per year
  400 plus pupils     21 projects per year
  
  Secondary:-
  Up to 1000 pupils 11 projects per year
  Up to 1500 pupils 13 projects per year
  1500 plus pupils   16 projects per year 
   
• Each project contains 25 items on specified subject(s). It is not necessary for all 25 items to be on 1 subject. Topics can be mixed according to requirements.
• Each project pack is lent for 1 term.
• Project Loans are delivered to school during the first week of term and collected back during the last week of term.
• To guarantee delivery to school, requests must reach us at least 4 weeks before the end of the preceding term.
• You are very welcome to come to Schools Library Service to select and exchange Project Loan material. Staff will always be pleased to help you. If you are unable to visit, projects can be requested by sending in a Project Loan Form via post or fax. Alternatively, you can telephone or e-mail your requirements to us.
• Requests can be made at any time of the year so if you have missed our delivery, projects can be sent to your nearest branch library, who will telephone you to let you know of their arrival, or you can collect them from Schools Library Service.
