If you find reading hard work and would like to improve your reading and writing skills, help is at hand. Doncaster Libraries take part in various national campaigns to promote reading so that everyone can enjoy the pleasure of books.
Doncaster Libraries support the BBC RaW (Reading and Writing) campaign to improve reading and writing skills. The RaW website shows how families can enjoy stories even if reading is a problem. You can also listen to the first chapter of 10 of the Quick Read books through the RaW Reader. Look out for these as well as games and quizzes on the website link below

First Choice books are available in every Doncaster library and include the Quick Reads and other special editions for people who are new to reading, have lost the reading habit, or who prefer a shorter, fast paced book. They are written by best-selling authors and celebrities. To see details and reviews of the First Choice and Quick Read books, please use the website links below:
Each year adults who don't do a lot of reading are challenged to read six books from Doncaster Libraries' First Choice sections, which include the Quick Reads.
This is called the Six Book Challenge and all libraries in Doncaster are taking part, so call in and collect your reading diary and start reading!
