Introduction

This series of webpages is designed to provide some background information and useful addresses on a variety of topics of interest to family and local historians. It also provides information about many of the more important types of records available at Doncaster Archives for research into these subjects.

If you would like information about any aspect of archives not mentioned here, or would like to know more about the topics to be found on these webpages, please contact Doncaster Archives.

Our contact details can be found at the top of this webpage.

If you intend to visit Doncaster Archives, our reading room is open as follows:

Monday to Friday 9.00 to 12.45 and 14.00 to 16.45. We are closed on Saturdays and public holidays. Please give us advanced notice of your visit, so that we can guarantee you a seat, as the reading room can get very busy on some days. We will need to issue a readers ticket on your first visit, so please bring some official document (a driving licence, for example) that includes your name and address.
