Doncaster and District Family History Society was established in 1979 and has made (and continues to make) a major contribution to the study of family history in the area through its programme of meetings, groups for beginners and its publications. It has a research room equipped with many of the significant sources for research available to members and, on a fee-paying basis, non-members. The opening hours are:
Monday: 10.00 to 12.30; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10.00 to 16.00
Thursday: Closed
Saturday: 10.00 to 14.00

The Society's research room (The Palgrave Room) occupies part of the Doncaster Archives building on King Edward Road, Balby, Doncaster DN4 0NA. The room is entered through its own, separate entrance located at the Florence Avenue end of the building. The Family History Society now has its own website which you can visit from the link below.
