Consulting the records held at Doncaster Archives

Records will be made available to the public for research during the advertised opening hours of the Archives. Access will be granted in accordance with the search room rules, the principles and conditions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The staff of Doncaster Archives will comply with any common law or statutory provision governing public access to records. Depositors may negotiate their own conditions of access with the principal archive officer.

Users of the public reading room at the Archives should be aware of the following:

The books and documents held at the Archives are unique and irreplaceable. You are asked to handle them with great care and please observe the following points.

Doncaster Archives is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 12.45pm & 2.00pm - 4.45pm, and closed weekends and public holidays.
