The town centre offers excellent shopping facilities following the development of the Frenchgate transport interchange and retail complex. Doncaster also has one of the largest markets in the country as well as a vibrant nightlife. Doncaster Lakeside is home to the new Community Stadium providing sport and community facilities, the Dome, a cinema and bowling alley. The Borough also looks forward to a new Civic and Cultural Quarter which will provide a new performance venue for Learning Arts as well as a wide range of performing arts.

Active Doncaster provides a range of opportunities for local people to participate in sport and physical activity, while also managing the many Sports & Leisure Centres throughout the borough.
