Strategy for Change

As a result of this first stage of consultation, we are now developing our Strategy for Change Part 1. This is the first step in approving the BSF programme with the government and includes the vision for the future of secondary education in Doncaster.

The Strategy for Change looks at where we are now (including exam results and pupil attendance) and the challenges we need to overcome to achieve our vision, for example improving post-16 choice and better use of technology. The Strategy for Change also contains the proposed individual governance options for each school.

Stakeholder Forum and School Stakeholder Groups

As well as regular meetings with secondary schools and welcoming your feedback every step of the way, we are currently planning consultation activities to make sure there are opportunities for everyone to get involved and help us progress our plans. This includes setting up a BSF Stakeholder Forum and School Stakeholder Groups.

BSF Stakeholder Forum

The Forum will be a group of people including Councillors, teachers, governors and unions who will have wide-ranging discussions on all aspects of the BSF programme. They will work at a higher level and help us with project planning and producing key documents.

School Stakeholder Groups

These groups will be about making sure that individual schools are fully involved in the project. They will include pupils, parents, staff from primary and secondary schools, the voluntary sector and local business people. The groups will meet at milestones during the project to discuss issues and work out the best way forward for their particular school and community. Among other responsibilities, the groups will support the Headteacher in developing the individual school plan.

To register your interest to become a member of the School Stakeholder Groups, please contact your child’s school or call the BSF team on 01302 736033.
