The overall aim of the service is to provide a menu of flexible services for parents whose children have Special Educational Needs in order to empower them to play an active and informed role in their child’s education. We aim to enable and empower parents to work in partnership with schools and the Local Authority to ensure the educational needs of their children are met. This includes access to an Independent Parental Supporter for those parents who want one.
Parent Partnership Service resulted from the 1993 Education Act when the Code of Practice for the Identification and Assessment of SEN was introduced.
