Young people really are the future of Doncaster, which is why Education continues to be at the very top of the Council's agenda ensuring all youngsters can achieve the academic and vocational achievements they deserve.

Over the last few years, Doncaster has achieved pleasing academic success. 2009 saw the Borough celebrating our ‘best ever’ GCSE results with 42.5% of young people across the Borough attaining five or more grades at A*-C, including English and Maths – an increase of 3.3% on last year’s performance.

At A Level in 2009, for the seventh consecutive year, Doncaster has outperformed the national pass rate with 99.5% of students achieving one or more A-Level passes at grades A-E - an improvement of 1% on last year’s performance and outshining this year’s national pass rate by a full 2%.
