The Learning and Behaviour Support Service exists to serve the needs of pupils who are unable to attend school for medical reasons or because their behaviour has caused them to be excluded from school or puts them at serious risk of exclusion.
The service has a core team based in the Council House who can provide advice and guidance in relation to pupil behaviour issues and any exclusion from school.
There are three Reintegration Officers who work closely with Pupil Referral Units and Schools to promote positive behaviour and the effective return to school of excluded pupils where appropriate.
There are five Pupil Referral Units across the borough who provide education for pupils who cannot currently attend mainstream school. These are
Cusworth Centre:- Key Stage 1 and 2
Nexus Centre:- Key Stage 3
Springboard Centre:- Key Stage 4
Gateway Centre:- Key Stage 3 and 4 Assessment
Maple Medical Service:- School age medical services
