Pupils will be entitled to free transport to and from college provided they:
Free transport is provided in the form of a Travel Grant. This is paid in the form of a one-off payment by cheque, made payable to the student.
The amounts paid to pupils differ according to age, and the number of bus journeys the student needs to take (and is charged for) in order to get to college.
For the current academic year, the amounts paid are as follows;
For pupils aged under 18 years (on the first day of the academic year - 1st September):
For a single paid bus journey £140.00
For a double paid bus journey £280.00
For pupils aged 18 years or over (on the first day of the academic year - 1st September):
For a single paid bus journey £463.00
For a double paid bus journey £925.00

Pupils resident in South Yorkshire, who are under the age of 18 years (on the first day of the academic year - 1st September) who do not qualify for a Zero Fare Pass from the Local Authority can obtain a concessionary fare pass by contacting South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, at Duke Street, Doncaster on telephone 01302 815001, alternatively visit the website www.travelsouthyorkshire.com
A Code of Practice for safety and behaviour on school transport other than that specifically arranged for a child with Special Educational Needs has been adopted by Doncaster Council in conjunction with the three other South Yorkshire Authorities, the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the Bus Operators Association (BOSSY).
